A Tradition of Excellence in Community Concerts

The Music Company Orchestra is a 60-piece volunteer community orchestra performing for those who do not ordinarily hear orchestral music so they can experience the excitement of a live concert.  In addition to playing at area retirement centers and nursing homes, we support local needs/charities.

About

The Music Company Orchestra is a non-profit community orchestra run by its volunteer musician members. Incorporated in 1974, the orchestra performs concerts free or at a nominal cost so that those who would not ordinarily hear orchestral music can experience the excitement of a live concert. In addition to its regular schedule of nursing homes and hospitals, the Orchestra performs for fund-raisers, for area charitable groups and community activities.

The Music Company Orchestra maintains three scholarships:

  • The Erkkila Scholarship – an annual award to a Ballston Spa High School senior pursuing musical studies beyond high school.
  • The Music Company Orchestra Scholarship – an award to a Burnt Hills – Ballston Lake senior who has displayed outstanding musicianship and citizenship.
  • Pezzano Scholarship to a student at Schenectady High School

Membership in the orchestra is available on a limited basis. However, you may become a friend of the Orchestra at anytime.
